This one is a no-brainer for me! Thunderhead all the way! That's one of those rides that I'd support pretty far through this tournament because it really IS just that good. Prowler is a lot of fun, but feels way too short. Dania Beach Hurricane is a fun ride as well, but just nothing to write home about. Thunderhead, on the other hand, is a ride I'd call the best wooden roller coaster in the United States!

I am definitely going to vote for Prowler on this one. I really liked Voyage, but I thought it was just...too much and too rough. Prowler is a smaller, shorter, smoother version, and in GCI form. Looks amazing.

The Voyage was so amazing in its opening year. Sadly, it got less amazing in each following year, and way too quickly became rough.

Yeah, I rode it for the first time this June and could tell it had aged really badly (as it seemed everyone loved it when it opened).

That's why I'm not too impressed with GG. Hades and Boardwalk Bullet look like a mess, and Ravine Flyer II and Fireball will most likely get very rough in a few years. I'm really excited for these Timberliners, and hope GG gets them on all of their coasters asap.

I too worry about The Gravity Group. Hades was AMAZING opening year. Pure wooden perfection. Year 2 it was good. Year 3 it got rough. After that it was basically unrideable. The Voyage followed the EXACT same formula, right to the period at the end of the sentence. I didn't think Ravine Flyer II really had any rough spots, but the ride isn't NEARLY as aggressive and powerful as Hades or The Voyage and I think that has a lot to do with it. Compared to those two, Ravine Flyer II is downright tame (though it's really not a tame ride, but in relative to the other two..).

I'm very concerned about the Timberliner trains. I sat in one at IAAPA this year. QUITE uncomfortable. No padding at all. Entirely made of very hard rubber. I don't think that will be at all fun on something like The Voyage. Not the way that thing throws you around.

I was actually planning on going to Waldameer this year but chose Kennywood instead because of bad weather heading towards Erie. RF2 did look really good and more like a GCI, which is my type of ride.

Interesting about the Timberliners. If they make Voyage even more rough and uncomfortable than it is, GG won't last long.

Well, I'm sure they will probably track better. PTCs are crap with wheels. The problem is even when a train tracks well, The Voyage is extremely aggressive. It's still going to throw you around - as it's designed to do - and without padding, that will not be so fun.

Ravine Flyer II definitely does not run like a GCI. It's clearly a GG coaster. It IS fast and aggressive, just not to the level of The Voyage or Hades. It definitely does not have that swooping grace that GCIs have going through curves.

Thunderhead is an easy choice from me. That thing is a beast, while the other two look like fun, I just don't think they can compare.

Prowler *would* be able to compare if it just took one more lap around the structure. What the ride does is a lot of fun, but the problem is it doesn't do nearly enough of it.

    Definitely voted Thunderhead!
