Default Announcing Tournament of Champions 2: Florida's Open Challenge!

Following closely on the heels of AI's original Tournament of Champions success, we are proud to announce Tournament of Champions 2: Florida's Open Challenge!

Central Florida has long been recognized as the theme park capital of the world - and the first time around, all of Central Florida's greatest attractions went head to head. This time, however, the entire game has changed! Florida's best roller coasters issue an open challenge to any ride in the United States that thinks it can compare! Will Florida truly prove itself as the king of the amusement industry? Now's your chance to decide!

Each bracket features one Florida roller coaster taking on two comparable roller coasters from around the United States that carry a similar categorical theme. The brackets are divided between Vertical Drop Coasters, Vertical Lift Coasters, Wooden Racing/Dueling Coasters, Wooden Twister Coasters, Forward/Backward Coasters, Family Launch Coasters, Mine Train Coasters, Dark Coasters, Launched Looping Coasters, Launched Spaghetti Bowl Coasters, Intense/High-G Looping Coasters, Floorless Coasters, Mid-size Inverted Coasters, Compact Inverted Coasters, Large-scale Inverted Coasters and Flying Coasters.

Unlike Tournament of Champions: Central Florida, there are no one on one competitions! Each Round 1 bracket features three rides, and in the style of popular shows like American Idol, the coaster that gains the least amount of votes once the poll closes will be eliminated, leaving the top two to advance. Round 2 brackets feature four coasters, with three advancing. Round 3 features six coasters, with four advancing (this round will see the elimination of the two lowest vote counts). Round 4 features eight coasters, with five coasters advancing (this round will see the elimination of the three lowest vote counts). The championship round will be ten coasters going head to head to claim the crown.

When Tournament of Champions 2 begins on November 30, 2009, new polls begin every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

It's time to find out if Florida really is home to the best of the best! Will your favorite coaster be crowned king? Only you have the power to decide! Cast your vote and tell your friends, because the Amusement Insider Tournament of Champions 2 is coming soon!

*Round 3 polls will remain open for five days (120 hours) at which point two winners will be determined by a majority rules total. In the event of a tie, the addition of one day (24 hours) will serve as a "Sudden Death" period. AI apologizes if your personal favorite roller coaster(s) are not represented within Tournament of Champions 2.

I said there will be no one on one match that features Montu vs. Alpengeist!

And there's not! It's Montu vs. Alpengeist vs. Top Gun... err... Flight Deck... err... Afterburn... whatever they call it by the time TOC2 starts.

My goal was to completely re-invent Tournament of Champions in the same way that Tournament of Champions completely re-invented a theme park fan poll. I think this definitely acheives that goal - and I really like the completely revised voting / advancing style.

This looks totally epic, I can not wait to start on this one!
The Epcot Center logo symbolizes unity, fellowship, and harmony around the world. Five outer rings are linked to form the shape of a flower; a celebration of life. The heart of the logo is the Earth, embraced by a star symbolizing hope; the hope that with imagination, commitment, and dedication, we can create a better tomorrow.

    Just a few weeks away!

I tried to pick fairly well-traveled coasters. Is there anything anyone has noticed that they haven't heard of?
