Round 3: Splash Mountain vs. The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror

Welcome to Round 3 of the Tournament of Champions! We definitely have a hot match-up to start with- as the Red Backet's final round features two of Disney's most popular, most iconic attractions of all time going head to head - Magic Kingdom's Splash Mountain takes on Disney's Hollywood Studio's The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror!

Only one of these two mega-attractions can represent the right side in the Tournament of Champions semi-final ride, and with little suprise, we now know that will be The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror!

TOT just is going to win by a landsided. Spalsh Mountain is an ok ride, not the best of water rides, and TOT is one of the best rides Disney has. TOT will most likly win the left side,or will it? I wonder if it can beat Rock N' Roller Coaster?

I would easily argue that Splash Mountain is the best water ride in the world. The only other contender that might make me second guess that pick is Tokyo Disneyland's Splash Mountain - but certainly nothing else.

It is a good ride, but not the best in the world. I think the best might be Jurassic Park, not to sure.

I'm not sure there are many that would agree with that feeling, but you are entitled to your opinion for sure.

Splash Mountain was my first thrill ride, I remember I was 6 at the time. Even though the indoor area is themed in a friendly way I was totally scared about what was going to happen. When I saw the drop I almost started crying. Anyway I loved the ride after that first ride and still do. It has sentimental value for me. But since this Tournament is about the best attraction, my vote has to go with ToT(huge re'ride value, amazing theming, and also, intense)

Argh, this is a tough one. I've only done the California versions of both - but it appears that the ratio of "goodness" is the same (The FL Tower of Terror is better than CA's and same goes for the FL Splash Mountain as far as I have heard) so I feel that I'll be able to look at this fairly.

Splash Mountain is one of, if not my favorite water ride (I too love Jurassic Park, but more due to the source material than anything else) and a must ride almost every time I go to the park. However, the same can be said for Tower of Terror, which has a fantastic atmosphere and thrill factor. However I think the atmosphere alone of Tower of Terror must put it on top, so to Tower of Terror my vote goes.

I really like both attractions, but Tower of Terror gets my vote. I have a great affinity towards the "haunted" theme. Horror in general makes me very happy when it's done right. Tower of Terror is just the combination of everything that I look for. Great theming, some thrills, and a cool subject matter.

I honestly enjoy your thought process on this. In a sense it's funny that you are voting based on the CA rides, but your reasoning for doing so is 100% sound and logical. Very clever!

I'm glad that my logic in this case was sound, I know it's a bit of a stretch - but if it works, it works!
