Default Tournament of Champions 3: World's Greatest Dark Rides

AI is pleased to announce Tournament of Champions 3: World's Greatest Dark Rides! Much like the name implies, the best dark rides from the world-over will compete head to head to earn the ultimate crown of being named #1.

Each Round 1 bracket features three rides, and in the style of popular shows like American Idol, the dark ride that gains the least amount of votes once the poll closes will be eliminated, leaving the top two to advance. Round 2 brackets feature four dark rides, with three advancing. Round 3 features six dark rides, with four advancing (this round will see the elimination of the two lowest vote counts). Round 4 features eight dark rides, with five advancing (this round will see the elimination of the three lowest vote counts). The championship round will be the top ten dark rides going head to head to claim the crown.

New polls begin every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

To mix things up further, every single match-up has been randomly selected. There will be no intentional like-pairings for Round 1, which gives even more chance of smiliar ride types to advance based on their merit and not just their sister attractions elsewhere. The only dark ride intentionally placed in a specific spot was Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey - being the newest, this was done to give members more time to get a chance to experience it before it comes time to vote. In the case of many of the Disney attractions included, you may know that while an attraction may exist in each park, they can have differences among them. Unless specifically mentioned (for example, Pooh's Hunny Hunt will relate only to the Tokyo Disneyland attraction), voting will be for your favorite version of that cloned attraction (in other words, Pirates of the Carribean is being voted on as a "brand" - and your vote could be for Disneyland's, Magic Kingdom's, Tokyo Disneyland's or Disneyland Paris'.) As was the case with TOC1 and TOC2 however, we encourage you to use reasonable determination to vote in all polls even if you have not personally ridden all attractions. AI will provide YouTube videos of the dark rides competing in each poll to help those who have not seen them in person!

It's time to find out which park can stake claim to having the best of the best! Will your favorite dark ride be crowned king? Only you have the power to decide! Cast your vote and tell your friends, because the Amusement Insider Tournament of Champions 3 is coming soon!

I think the random pairings is going to make this one very interesting right out of the gate. What even further interests me is that, something no one else here could really know - TOC3 started off not randomized. Rides were paired with like rides as has been the case in the past. I decided to spice things up, and literally picked names from a hat to form the Round 1 brackets, yet the two Tower of Terror rides still ended up head to head.
